• Manufactured using a hardwood core combined with an ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene) plastic coating. This co-polymer coating is extremely tough and resilient. Woodbury Waterproof shutters are suitable for wet areas like a shower or bathroom, although unsuitable for exterior use.
  • ABS is used in a variety of other manufacturing applications where strength and resilience is a key feature, for example it is used to make Lego, protective headgear and whitewater canoes amongst other things.
  • Woodbury Waterproof shutters are stronger, tougher and lighter than high impacted PVC shutters. They will not split, warp, peel or fade and never require painting.
  • They are the most advanced synthetic shutters on the market partly due to its material composition and partly because it looks like real wood and not like other plastic looking synthetic shutters.
Construction
  • The solid timber core gives strength and ensures the shutter panels are straight and level. Compared to similar products that have a hollow core the Woodbury Waterproof shutters also have a much more solid feel when closing.
  • Traditionally used in furniture and building construction, mortise and tenon joints are designed to withstand the shear stress and racking forces applied when operating a shutter. This makes the mortise and tenon an ideal joint for shutters.
  • Internal adjustment bars run through the centre louvre for tension adjustment so the louvers will never end up loos
